30th Anniversary of a company with 50 years of experience

The company Iskra Zakład Maszyn i Łożysk Specialnych Sp. z o. o. has been operating under its current name since 1993. However, its history dates back to 1972. From the beginning of its existence, it has been located at Mielczarskiego 43 street in Kielce.

The beginnings of today's Iskra ZMiŁS Sp. z o. o. reach the Research and Development Center of Rolling Bearings (OBRŁT), which, pursuant to the decision of the Minister of Heavy Industry of July 1, 1972, was separated from the "Technical Progress" department of the Rolling Bearings Factory "ISKRA".

At that time, the Center consisted of three departments - Mechanical Processing, Metallurgy and Industrial Chemistry, and Machines and Devices. The first two laboratories carried out research and implementation work for the entire bearing industry in Poland, while the third one was focused on the modernization of the "ISKRA" factory. The Center had branch offices in Poznań, Warsaw and Kraśnik and dealt with, among others, cooperation with the University of Technology in Kielce in the field of research on finishing processes, especially grinding, superfinishing and polishing. The result of this cooperation was the development by the team of the University of Technology in Kielce and OBRŁT of many model technologies for the abrasive and finishing treatment of rolling bearing rings, used in the "ISKRA" Rolling Bearing Factory. The research team received the Third Degree Team Award of the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Technology for achievements in the field of scientific research for the work entitled "Optimization of the grinding and polishing process of ring races of selected types of deep groove ball bearings."

In 1982, OBRŁT was transformed into the Research and Development Center of the Rolling Bearings Factory "ISKRA" (abbreviated as OBR FŁT "Iskra") in Kielce. The organizational structure of the center changed and became focused mainly on the implementation of research and implementation works for FŁT "Iskra". At the same time, new forms of activity were sought. The Department of Special Bearings was established and organized in the school workshops of FŁT "ISKRA". The production of the following types of special bearings was launched: angular contact ball bearings for grinding spindles, plain bearings, rod ends with plain bearings, needle roller axial cylindrical bearings ZARN, linear ball guides, cam and track rollers, rolling bearing freewheel clutches, BTR- 75 type guides and many others. OBR FŁT "ISKRA" also carried out work in designing and constructing specialized and special machine tools (milling machines, lathes, grinders), conventional and numerically controlled. It also produced assembly devices, packaging machines, technological transport devices, as well as normal and precise parts of subassemblies and devices for the mechanical engineering industry, in the field of machining, mechanical assembly, pneumo-hydraulics and electronic control systems.

 In 1993, on the basis of the notarial deed of December 29, 1992, the Rolling Bearings Research and Development Center became independent and Iskra Zakład Maszyn i Łożysk Specjalnych Sp. z o. o. was created. Based on 20 years of experience, the company is still engaged in the production of new machines, repairs of machines and devices, machining and the production of special bearings.

 Currently, in 2023, after 30 years of existence, Iskra Zakład Maszyn i Łożysk Specjalnych Sp. z o. o., and over 50 years after the establishment of OBRŁT, the company has approximately 100 employees, has two production halls with a total area of 6,000 m2 and over 100 processing machines. A well-equipped machine park allows us to produce parts for internal projects and external orders. Projects are carried out from the design stage, preparation of documentation, through the production of parts, mechanical and electrical assembly and programming, to commissioning and testing of the device. Since 2002, Iskra ZMiŁS Sp. z o. o. has been the official representative of the German company RK Rose+Krieger in Poland.

 The company's offer is addressed to many industries - mainly the automotive, bearing, metal, machinery, wood, as well as food, arms and mining industries. The recipients of parts and machines are companies from Poland and foreign countries, including Ukraine, Mexico, China and the USA.
